Weekend Challenge - Orange Bluespotted Ray - September 12-14
Hello fellow Nemo's Reefers! This week, you'll be able to obtain the Orange Bluespotted Ray, which was offered in the past! After you open 12 chests, you'll get 1000 sanddollers, 1500 XP, and the Orange Bluespotted Ray as your final reward! Have an awsome weekend! ;)
Thanks for the announcement. Care to try your hand at listing it on the Special Events page? You simply add a template called Infobox Event and fill in the form that pops up. Some of the fields have defaults, so hit the preview button inside the popup to see what gets auto-filled. I know for this event, the default weekdays and times are accurate, and both yes/no conditions apply. I'm not positive on the level required, though. And don't worry if something doesn't come out right, we can always edit it. ;)
I see you made an attempt to add this event. I'd like to work out any issues with the template to make it easy for others to use. So if you don't mind, could you try again please?
I'm wondering if you use the default editor or the visual editor (or did you try copying some of the source?) The way I'm most comfortable with for this is the default editor, as the visual editor has glitches sometimes, and using source incorrectly produces unpredictable results.
So, in the regular editor, you place the cursor to the right of all the other templates (puzzle pieces), type a space, and click on the template button at the right side of the screen (it's the first one in the 'Templates' section.) This should bring up a smaller window where you can fill in the fields on the left, and the template will put the info where it belongs. Using the preview in that smaller window should indicate how the box will look when it is published. For the image, just type the name as it exists on the wiki. Spaces are okay, and the extension (.png or .jpg, etc.) is required for it to work. It should show up in the preview when input correctly. The time used is 24-hour (or military) time, so anything past 12:59 pm is 12 hours higher (2 pm is 14:00, etc.)
If you have any problems with this, just leave it published and comment here so we can figure it out together, okay? Thanks. :)
Oh. In that case, I'll use the word 'classic' with this sort of thing in the future, and with other people too. I have my preferences set to use it as the default, though I often switch to the source tab when things are too technical for the classic one. And since I'm used to hard-coding wikitext, I don't care much for the newer 'visual' editor, though I don't begrudge anyone who prefers it. I'll keep in mind now that others edit in different ways.
Also, great work on the events. Thanks for your help! :)
